The Color Block

Have you heard about the hottest trend this season? Let me introduce to you THE COLOR BLOCK!
As for me it was a great surprise because I like colorful clothes but in the last times, following the fashion trends I used to wear pale classic colors. This trend came just in time! And now it's time for completing our wardrobes with lots of colors.
This trend is based on combining clothes of different colors at first sight misfit. In my opinion, this season the designers have done their work stupendous. As an example I prefered to take Gucci S/S 2011Collection beacause for me, it embraces all the amazing things a collection should possess: marvellous fabrics, stunning colors and of course, lovely accesories. I fell in love with their ad campaign, expressing such magical feelings it inspires me. It can be easily noticed the grace and the true style the Gucci S/S 2011 Collection offers to a lady.
So, I hope this collection will inspire you too. Don't be afraid! Experience with colors to be trendy this season! Enjoy!

5 must-haves in the beach bag

When going to the beach it is extremely important to be prepared for any situation . Maybe some of you are not very informed about how should pass a successful sunbathing process, that's why here you are a list of must-haves in your beach bag I made.

1.TOWEL. It is an important detail in the beach bag. Some of us can't ''exist'' on the beach without it, others prefer not to have it, believing that the Sun is taking its place. Well, each of them are right and both are wrong. :) Why? Because a towel should be present in a beach bag, but we should use it just to remove the water from the face, the body should be left to be dried by the Sun. This way you'll get tanned faster.

2.SUNSCREEN. It's, in my opinion, the most important must-have in the beach bag. Our skin is very vulnerable to the UV rays and you might get red if staying to much exposed to the sun without using a high SPF sunscreen. No matter if your skin is darker or whiter, the excesive sunbathing is damaginf it and increases the aging process.

3.SUNGLASSES. Besides stylish accesories, sunglasses are very useful things wherever there's  sun and especially on the beach. Our eyes need protection as well as the entire body. So it's necessary to have one pair of dark sunglasses in the beach bag.

4.HAT. A hot trend this season and of course, a must-have in the beach bag. There are few of us who prefer to wear hats at the beach or wearing them at all. But hats have a significant role . Those who wear hats on the beach are protected from direct sunlight which might provoke headaches, rise of tension or migraines. Hats also protect the hair which can be easily damaged by the sunlight.

5.SCARF. Also a hot trend and a stylish detail of the beach outfit must-haves. When wearing it, follow your imagination and be inspired. You can either tie it on your body as a beach dress/skirt or you can put it on your shoulders when walking along the seashore. You can also put it on your head if you don't have a hat. This way you'll be once more protected from the Sun.

Well my dears, this is it. I'm done here. These are the things which you must have in your beach bag and nothing more. My advice to you, my readers, don't take unnecessary things at the beach. Think twice before you put in your bag all stuff you see such as music players, cells, magazines (OK, fine, you may take one :), expensive things, jewerly, food or drinks (maybe just a bottle of water). This way you'll get a heavy bag full of worries and stress. Having just these 5 things in your beach bag you have all you need in an easy bag and you'll feel more confortable, 'cause this is how you should feel on the beach - relaxed. :)

The Olive Oil

This Sunday I decided to dedicate the entire day to...myself  :) . As I had no plans because of the ''amazing'' weather outside, before falling into a depression, I told myself that nothing's gonna ruin another weekend of my summer. So I consecrated this day to beauty...my beauty :) . This is how I discovered an incredible elixir of youth and health. You are probably thinking and guessing what am I talking about, what's that elixir?..
OH HELL! no you're not...you've read the title of the article... :))

Anyways I'm going to tell you how I spent my Sunday in the company of the Olive Oil.
I woke up EARLY (usually at 1 p.m. I'm STILL sleeping!) , had a fresh strawberry juice for breakfast (yummy!). A little bit later I found in the kitchen a bottle of Olive oil. I was happy to find it as I read plenty of articles and interesting facts about it and wanted to try it personally, just didn't have the opportunity
(I have a ''special'' memory for this kind of things :) . I read that it is good for the skin, hair; in one word - for the entire body. I instantly decided to try it!

At first I made a hair mask with which I stayed on my hair the whole day. (When my sister came in the evening she scared me telling that a friend of her did the same thing and all her hair had gone...and that the mask should be kept no more than an hour) OMG! She really scared me...But don't worry...at last I found out it was a joke... Anyways, I didn't believe her :) So know that the more you keep this mask on your hair the better for it.

Well, let's continue...Besides hair, I wanted to use the oil on skin. I took a bowl, poured the oil into it, took a dose on my fingers and smoothed it on my arms, neck and even face. Well...my impressions?...I was feeling so...oily :)) and this feeling lasted until I got bored because it didn't soaked to the skin...and I took a shower, rinsing the oil from my skin and hair. Then my skin felt soft and moisturized, my hair felt also good, actually GREAT, it was shinning amazingly.
Today it still shines and my skin is still soft. That's why I've decided to repeat this experience every Sunday since now. You should try it too! Believe me, it worths!

I heard the Olive Oil has miraculous effects if using inside, I mean in food or drinks. So, I guess I'll be using it more often now. :)

Beauty has no age

Who said grannies can't be models? :)

The woman who blasted the stereotype and destroyed this hypothesis is the 80 years old model Carmen Dell'Orefice who celebrated her anniversary on June, 3, 2011.
Carmen is an American model born in New York, NY. She was discovered at the age of 13 by the wife of photographer Herman Landschoff. Later, when she was 15, she was introduced to Vogue by her godfather and this was the beggining of her official modeling carreer, signing a contract for $7.50 per hour. An year later she appeared in Vogue as Little Red Riding Jood, Snow White and also Cinderella along with other supermodels and actors.
Carmen and her family were so poor they hadn't even a telephone. That's why the reprezentant of Vogue magazine had to go to her appartment to propose a modeling job.
Carmen was one of the youngest Vogue cover models ever when she appeared on the October 1947 cover of Vogue.
Despite early successes at such a young age, her agent Eileen Ford refused to represent her. This way, Vogue lost their interest in her. After doctors prescribed shots to start puberty, she instead started working as a ligerie model, earning $300 per hour. In 1953 she joined Ford Models agency.
Carmen had three marriages. Her husbads were Bill Miles, photographer Richard Heinmann and architect Richard Kaplan.
She decided to return to modeling in 1978 continuing till now.
In the '90s and 2000s she modeled for Isaac Mizrahi's clothing line at Target, as well as Cho Cheng and Rolex. Carmen is featured regularly in their ad campaingns appearing in Vogue, W and Harper's Bazaar.
She created a fashion trend when she painted her hair silver, after this many public figures taking her example or simply copying her...
In 1985 she publishes her book called: Staying beautiful: beauty secrets and attitudes from my forty years as a model .
In the '80s and '90s, Carmen lost most of her money in the stock market. She was forced to auction off her famous modeling photos from the '40s-'80s through Sotheby's.
Besides all the financial and personal obstacles she met during her life, Carmen Dell'Orefice remains, at least for me, a mystery...an admirable mystery of true beauty. I am extremely impresses by this incredible and gorgeous woman who, despite such age has the will to stay young and beautiful, also to walk on runways surprising everyone with her extraordinary, marvelous body and wonderful facial features.
I'm sure that Carmen Dell'Orefice is and will remain a legend for the modeling history of the entire world.
